Nellore earthquake occurred on 1 September, 1869, accompanied by a slighter shock also on 2 September, 1869. This earthquake is said to be from west to east; walls and posts of the houses were shaken (Oldham, 1883). Based the felt reports its maximum MM intensity is V and its epicentral location was 14.5N, 80.8E. Its magnitude is 4.3 on Richter scale.
